Anoscopy

Anoscopy is an examination of the rectum, its internal surface.

It is performed through the anus. Anoscope – is a special flexible tool. Thus, you can examine the rectum (12-14 cm) and the anal canal.

The method of anoscopy is used to diagnose inflammatory pathologies of the rectal mucosa, identify hemorrhoids, identify small tumors, to obtain the necessary smears and perform a biopsy. Also, the anoscope makes it possible to perform therapeutic procedures: sclerosing therapy, coagulation, ligation of hemorrhoids by latex rings, as well as for the introduction of medications and electrocoagulation of polyps.

Preparation for the survey

In order to make qualitative and maximum informative anascopy, it is important to make a cleansing enema up to 2 l with water temperature of 36-37 degrees.

There is no contraindication for attending anoscopy.
