Video Colonoscopy

Video Colonoscopy is used for accurate and complete diagnosis of large intestine pathologies.

It is maximally informative. Video colonoscopy makes possible to observe the condition of the surveyed areas at high magnification on the monitor screen.

For the study, a colonoscope is used(a flexible apparatus). With its help, mount of pathologies are diagnosed (Hirschsprung’s disease, polyposis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, and the presence of malignant formations). When conducting a video colonoscopy, it is possible to take a biopsy.

Preparation of the survey

For the effectiveness of the test it is important to prepare properly (food restrictions):

• Before 3-4 days exclude vegetables, fruits, rye bread, nuts, mushrooms, jam, seeds, cereals (rice can be). You can eat white bread, mashed potatoes, dairy products, boiled fish, clear broths, chicken fillets, bananas, drink mineral water, light juices, compotes without berries
• Before 2 days should go to liquid food, do not take aspirin and iron-containing drugs. If it is difficult to defecate, do enemas or take laxatives
• 1 day before video colonoscopy, let’s have a light breakfast. Day and evening you cannot eat. You can drink clear drinks every hour and you need to actively move. From 6 to 8 pm take 2 liters of Fortran solution (within 15 minutes 1 glass), wash down with clear juice or water
• Before the test do not have breakfast, just take a second portion of Fortrans for 5-6 before the video colonoscopy and an additional 40 ml of Espromizana. If there is constipation, make an enema «Microlux» an hour before the study. Take two tablets of «Buskopan» for 4 hours before the procedure.

If general anesthesia is used, it is important to be strictly on an empty stomach. Suppose a light breakfast, if video colonoscopy will be conducted under local anesthesia. The duration of the examination is from 10 minutes to 1 hour.

• Pulmonary and heart failure
• Diseases in hematopoietic system
• Inflammation in the abdominal cavity
• Acute infection diseases
• Ischemic and ulcerative colitis.
