Video-rectosigmoscopy

Video-rectosigmoscopy is a study of an endoscope (colonoscope) of the sigmoid and rectum, and not of the large intestine as a whole.

The camera of the device transmits an image of the intestinal tracts to the monitor screen, which are monitored. On the monitor, the doctor sees everything in a multiple increase.

Preparation for the survey

For effective and maximum informative results it is important to be prepared (food restrictions):

• 3-4 days before exclude vegetables, fruits, rye bread, nuts, mushrooms, jam, seeds, cereals (rice can be). You can eat white bread, mashed potatoes, dairy products, boiled fish, clear broths, chicken fillets, bananas, drink mineral water, light juices, compotes without berries
• 2 days before you should go to light food, do not take aspirin and iron-containing drugs. If it is difficult to defecate, do enemas or take laxatives
• 1 day before video-rectosigmoscopy, a light breakfast is allowed. Day and evening you can not eat. It is recommended every hour to drink clear drinks and actively move. From 6 to 8 pm take 2 liters of Fortran solution (within 15 minutes 1 glass), wash down with clear juice or water
• Before the test for 5-6 hours take a second portion of «Fortrans» and an additional 40 ml of «Espomizana.» If there is constipation, make an enema «Microlux» an hour before the study. You can take two tablets of «Buskopan» for 4 hours before the procedure.

If general anesthesia is used, it is important to be strictly on an empty stomach. Suppose a light breakfast, if video-rectosigmoscopy will be conducted under local anesthesia. The duration of the examination is from 10 minutes to 1 hour.
